Thursday, September 21, 2017 the Wallis Annenberg PetSpace in Playa Vista, launches its first in a series of academic panel discussions and workshops by global scholars in the field of Human-Animal Studies. Dr. Eric Strauss of the LMU Center for Urban Resilience (CURes), who specializes in the human-animal interface in urban settings, will be part of the panel, along with Dr. Greger Larson of Oxford University, who studies the origins of animal domestication, and Dr. Naomi Sykes of the University of Nottingham, who studies the changing relationships between humans and animals through time.
The three panelists will share and engage with the audience, in a fascinating discussion about everything we think we know about our companion animals, and topics such as the concurrent evolution of dogs and humans through history. Each panelist is a Fellow at the Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, which has a core mission to strengthen and celebrate the human-animal bond with the broader public.
