The Center for Urban Resilience Restorative Justice Project is proud to report another successful year hosting the K-12 RJ Practices Implementation Academy from July 27-30, 2026. This four day immersive experience was designed to support K-12 schools and district leaders in learning how to plan and lead the implementation of restorative justice practices in a way that achieves systemic transformation.
Led by our seasoned training team consisting of Adele Bovard, Anthony Ceja, and Jenny Winkler, our participants were able to gain knowledge from years of collective experience in order to learn, practice, and create unique applications through the art and science of restorative practices implementation
Over the course of four days, our participants were able to build a community together through learning and applying restorative practices. They learned how to generate a site-based or district implementation plan and were able to do a deep dive into real-world scenarios, honing their ability to apply RJP effectively in diverse contexts. This training also helped to elevate leadership skills and boost confidence when addressing critical, unique and often sensitive matters that frequently occur in school settings. Our participants also forged valuable connections within a vibrant network of fellow academic leaders, researchers, and experienced practitioners. All participants had the opportunity to experience the ethos underlying restorative justice practices, transcending mere intervention to foster a campus culture where every individual feels deeply valued and truly belongs.
