CURes is once again hosting its Summer Session II Study Abroad course this summer entitled: “Tropical Science and Culture in Costa Rica”.
The course provides students with an extraordinary, multidisciplinary, foreign studies educational experience at a very low cost and without disrupting the traditional academic calendar. Course participants will stay at numerous field stations and hotels as they tour numerous locations around the country, including the Caribbean coast, the Central Valley, the cloud forest region of Monteverde, and the Pacific coast.
Lodging, meals, in-country transportation, and other fees are all included in the tuition with the addition of air travel cost. Students will have the opportunity to examine Costa Rican tropical wildlife within the cultural context of this beautiful and ecologically diverse Central American country. Nesting marine turtles, tropical cloud forests, rain forests, cave ecology and the cultural contexts of religion, politics, dance, music, food, and art are just some of the topics covered during this extensive 18-day summer abroad experience.
